The cover painting of Issue #18 was believed for decades to show Dwight Frye; it is actually Bernard Jukes, the stage Renfield, in photos taken for his unsuccessful bid at the film role. The Jack Davis Frankenstein pin-up makes the back cover matter as much as the front, and a young Joe Dante appears in the letters column.
